Birrificio Italiano Tipopils with Saint Nectaire
This tangy pilsner is reminiscent of an Italian herb garden. It has a subtle complexity that isn’t found in most pilsners, for example notes of lemon balm are noticeable. The creamy and hay like qualities of the Saint Nectair a true farmhouse, al fresco experience.
Thornbridge Kipling with Pecorino
This beer is a pleasant single hop Nelson Sauvin pale ale. The hope harnesses a berry sweetness and tropical aroma. Paired with Pecorino, Kipling takes on wildflower and honey notes that cut right through the mild bitterness. Another pairing to add to your weekend picnic.
Etienne-Dupont Cidre Reserve with Taleggio
This version of Etienne Dupont’s “champagne cidre” is aged for six months in used calvados (apple brandy) barrels. The bubbles are slightly mellower and a mild but rich sweetness now compliments the complex funky and tart flavors. The creaminess of the Taleggio brings out robust honey flavors and a lingering sweetness.
J.W. Lees Harvest Ale 2011, 25th Anniversary with Cowgirl Creamery Big Woods Blue
J.W. Lees are very well known for their barleywines. The Harvest Ale is savory and sweet all at the same time. The flavors will constantly evolve in you glass and on your palate with notes of alcohol to marinated meat but over time it will sing with its caramel and candied fruit glory. This creamy blue cheese conquers this intense complexity and wraps it up into a beautifully packaged pairing.
