Hitachino Nest White Ale with Taleggio
A Belgian style witbier’s characteristics consist of 50% wheat malt, 50% pale barley malt & they are spiced with coriander and orange peel. Hitachino Nest White Ale is full of these traditional spices with a touch of honeysuckle to boot. The creaminess of the Taleggio and buttery flavors envelope the wildflower feel of this beer to bring about an “on the farmstead” feeling.
Schneider Mein Nelson Sauvin with Thomasville Tomme
A German weizenbock’s characteristics are 50% wheat malt (meeting the German purity law), weizen ale yeast gives it the spicy (clove) and fruity flvors. This is one of Schneider’s Tap X beers. It is hopped using Nelson Sauvin, named for its similar flavors to Suavignon Blanc (wine). The Thomasville Tomme is tangy and offers a nice subtle contrast, bringing out more citrus and banana flavors.
Vapeur Cochonne with Barely Buzzed
Cochonne is brewed with roasted chicory, coriander, sweet orange peel, and other undisclosed ingredients. It is a sweet and sour kind of beer with hints of vinegar and brine. The roasty Barely Buzzed, with its coffee & lavender rind is calmed by the beer to bring out a delicate earthiness. This flavor melts in your mouth to become a delicious dish of mushrooms reduced in red wine.
