Why have a house format?
When I started MTG Night at OEC my goal was to have a good time and enjoy the game of Magic while being in a great environment. The hardest part of playing Constructed is the amount of resources it takes to play a somewhat competitive deck in most Constructed formats. To me Magic is the most enjoyable when the decks are evenly matched and you have to think about every move. Also I wanted to develop a format where people can just take the cards they drafted and add a few pieces (Or make a few trades) to start playing.
$25 should yield a very competitive deck. Being able to run your mana base on Evolving Wilds & Tapped Dual Lands will leave plenty of money in your pocket to have fun playing MTG while having a couple drinks.
So in the spirit of creating a format that is both competitive & less resource intense while requiring deck building creativity here is my proposed format: (Keep in mind this a house format & we are allowed to make rule changes when things can be improved!)
