On Saturday, 10/22/2016 we will release three new beers: Experimentalis With Peaches & Kumquats, Spontalis: Roseus & Urwaga Maledetta
Experimentalis With Peaches & Kumquats
Experimentalis is our barrel aging project using fruits that are grown in our horticultural area. Each release is unique and no two releases will taste the same.
This version of Experimentalis With Peaches & Kumquats is a blend of 1 & 3 year old ales matured on our garden peaches and several varieties of kumquats in Leonhardt Vineyards Zinfandel barrels from Napa, CA. 6.4% abv.
Limited to 480, 750ml bottles. Limit 4 bottles per person.
Spontalis: Roseus
Shocking as it may seem but we love traditional lambic ales of Belgium. Spontalis is our homage to these spontaneously fermented beers. Spontalis is 100% spontaneously fermented (no cultured yeast or bacteria is added whatsoever) by sitting in our coolship for 16 hours and then undergoing fermentation in oak barrels.
Spontalis: Roseus is a blend of 1 ½ year old spontaneously fermented ale in oak & young ale matured in oak, double matured in our pink granite fermenter. 5.6% abv
Limited to 480, 750ml bottles. Limit 4 bottles per person.
Urwaga Maledetta
Urwaga is our project where barrels are selected to age in our underground fermentation pit. This method is based on the Kenyan beverage known as Urwaga. It is an exploration of the aromas and flavor that can be created by barrel maturation underground.
The base beer for this batch was Birra del Borgo’s Maledetta. The beer was matured underground in the Urwaga pit for 2 years in a Leonhardt Vineyards Zinfandel barrel. Only 220 liters were produced.
Limited to 280, 500ml bottles. Limit 2 per person.
All 3 beers will also be available on draft. No holds or early sales on any of these bottles.
