What styles of beers do you produce?
We produce many styles, but let’s keep it simple in the interest of space… SOUR & WILD ALES. We do have guest drafts/bottles of other beer styles.
Why do some of you beers have blend #’s?
Several of our beers are blends of different ages of one product or a blend of many different beers. Each blend is meant to be different, as we like to be creative and keep things interesting. If you love a certain blend do not expect the next one to taste exactly the same, although you should certainly know it is similar at its core.
I see words like Artista Zynergia or Frigus or Experimentalis or Zymatore in front of some beers, what do they mean?
Artista Zynergia, Zymatore, Frigus, and Experimentalis are all naming collections for some of our brands. No two beers in the collection are the same. For more details, please visit Beer Collection.
Do you distribute your beer to retail stores?
Bottles are only sold via the OEC tasting room. There is no current plan to release any bottles into distribution. A very limited amount of kegs are released into different markets on a rotation schedule.
What does “Singularis” mean?
Whenever you see the word “Singularis” it designates that the product is a single barrel expression of the specific product and a very limited special release.
I see that you make fruit beer, what kind of fruits do you use?
We only use FRESH JUST HARVESTED fruits. Currently all the fruits we use come from the OEC citrus greenhouse, OEC orchard, or one of our brewer’s own house. As we control the growing environment of our fruits and herbs, our fruits are never treated with pesticide and completely natural. We NEVER use fruit extract, fruit flavoring, dried fruit, etc. We believe that fresh just harvested fruits provide the best flavors for our beers. As for the different types of fruits – that ranges from raspberries to fig to different citrus fruits to other things that we are planting. To learn more about the different fruits and herbs that we plant – please sign up for an upcoming tour.
Is your Experimentalis line the only line with fruits in it?
Yes and No. The Experimentalis line MUST have fruit and the fruit MUST be grown on OEC property. However, our fruits also make it into our beer such as Figtasma which had our own figs. We also use sour cherries from Tony, our assistant brewer’s house, in our Artista Zyneriga: Oudilis line. So we will use fruit in other beer besides Experimentalis. But you know for sure that if you pick up an Experimentalis beer, it has OEC fruit in it.
