Oudilis is our Artista Zynergia blending project with Hanssens Artisanaal – one of the last remaining traditional lambic blender in Belgium.
5.2% abv – Oudilis is our interpretation of a “Belgian style Gueuze” with a slight tweak. No two blends will taste the same!
Blend #1 (blended 7/22/2015) – This blend was done using 2 year old lambic ale and a “Berliner Weisse” style ale that was aged & soured in Chardonnay barrels from France for 8 months.
Blend #2 (blended 1/14/2016) – This blend was done with our barrel aged Berliner Weisse and a 16 months to 2 year old lambic from Hanssens Artisanal.
Blend #3 (blended 9/20/2016) – This blend was done using 2 year old lambic ale and a “Berliner Weisse” style ale that was aged & soured in French Chardonnay barrels from France for 8 months.
Blend #4 (blended 3/26/2020) – This blend was done using 2 year old lambic and our spontaneously fermented ale matured in wine barrels for one year.
Limited Edition: Oudilis Classic
6% abv – It is a blend of 2 year old Hanssens lambic and our spontaneously fermented ale that we matured in wine barrels for one year. Blend date was 3.26.2020.
Limited Edition: Oudilis Cerasus
Oudilis Cerasus #1 – 6.2% abv A very special version of Oudilis. This version includes locally grown HAND PICKED cherries from Tony (OEC assistant brewer) own backyard. This version is a blend of a sour saison with the fresh hand picked sour cherries and then blended with THREE YEAR OLD Hanssens Kriek with Schaarbeekse cherries. This version was packaged on 1/19/2016.
Oudilis Cerasus #2 – 6.2% abv Oudilis Cerasus is an interpretation of a “Belgian Style Kriek” with a slight tweak. This blend was done using 3 year old Hanssen’s Scarenbecca Kriek and a sour saison that was matured 12 to 24 months in South African red wine barrels with fresh sour cherries from Tony’s parent’s back yard. This version was packaged on 1/8/2017.
Limited Edition: Oudilis Fragaria
Oudilis Fragaria – Oudilis Fragaria is a special blend of 2 year old Hanssens lambic aged on strawberries in oak barrels and 1 year old OEC spontaneously fermented ale aged on our OEC grown straberries in a Gandona Vineyard Cabernet Franc barrel (St. Helena, CA USA). This version was packaged on 1/12/2017.
Limited Edition: Oudilis Cassis
Oudilis Cassis #1 – Special blend of 2 year old Hanssens Lambic aged on black currants in oak barrels and 1 year old OEC sour ales aged on our red currants in Candona Vineyards Cabernet Franc barrels (St. Helena, CA). This version was packaged 12/27/2017.
Limited Edition: Oryza
Oudilis Cerasus Oryza #1 – 8.8% abv – This is a special 3 way blend using 3 year old Hanssens Kriek with Schaarbeekse cherries, Kiuchi Yamahi (Old World Sake) and a sour saison that was matured on our sour cherries from our orchard for 8 months. This version was packaged 1/8/2018.
Oudilis Cassis Oryza Blend #1 – 10% abv – This is a special 3 way blend using 2 year old Hanssen’s Cassis with currants, Kiuchi sake and an OEC sour ale with freshly picked currants from our orchard matured in oak barrels for 9 months. This was packaged 1/8/2018.
Limited Edition: Rose de Oudilis
A blend using Hanssens Kriek and a sour saison that was matured for 18 months in Matthiasson Vineyards (Napa, CA) Chardonnay barrels with fresh Marechal Foch & Chambourcin grapes from our vineyard. Blend date was 3/25/2020.
Limited Edition: Oudilis Peche
A blend using Hanssens lambic and a sour saison that was matured for 9 months in Gandona Vineyards (St. Helena, CA) wine barrels with fresh peaches from our garden. Blend date was 3/24/2020.
Limited Edition: Oudilis Cerasus Huckleberrry
Oudilis Cerasus Huckleberry is an interpretation of a “Belgian Style Kriek” with a slight tweak. This blend was done using 3 year old Hanssen’s Kriek with Schaarbeekse cherries and a sour saison that was matured 5 months in red wine barrels (Napa, CA) with hand picked huckleberries from our property. This version was packaged 12/11/2017.
