- Schlenkerla Fastenbier/Lentbeer, Germany – 4x16oz cans – $15 ———- 6% abv Traditional rauchbier for Lent. Bottom-fermenting yeast gives the reddish brown lentbeer a natural cloudiness. Its smoky aroma is already noticeable in the smell, combined with a fine hoppy note.
- Schlenkerla Helles, Germany – 4x16oz cans – $14 ———- 4.5% abv Not a rauchbier, but brewed in the same old copper kettles as the classic smoke beer and fermented by the same Aecht Schlenkerla yeast; however, no smoke malt is used. Yet a slight smoky character persists!
- Schlenkerla Maerzen, Germany – 4x16oz cans – $15 ———- 5.1% abv Traditional Rauchbier (smoked beer) from Bamberg Germany. Unpasteurized and made entirely from smoked malt – Schlenkerla is one of the very few breweries left in Germany that does its own malting and then smoke its own malt.

This beer is brewed according to the style of the original Maerzen style beer brewed for the Royal Wedding of 1810 between Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe- Hildburghausen that started the Oktoberfest traditions.

Very common historical way as in the old days a lot of beer was passed through pine needles/juniper to create the bitterness (prior to the popularity of hops). The flavors has pine needle aroma in the nose and then on the palate followed by the traditional sourness/spiceness/saltiness of a Gose.

ITALY
- Baladin Nazionale, Italy – 4×11.2oz bottles – $18 ———- 7.0% abv A hoppy Italian White Ale – Nazionale is the result of a search that started a few years ago at Birreria Le Baladin to create an artisanal beer made with 100% Italian ingredients. The barley is grown and malted in Basilicata, in southern Italy. The hops used, Cascade and Magnum, are 80% produced in an experimental field in the town of Cussanio, in Piedmont and the remaining 20% are from Emilia-Romagna. While the spices used in the recipe, Bergamot peel and Coriander hail from the southern Italian region of Calabria.

- Young Master Jade Scorpion, Hong Kong China – 4x12oz – $17———5.1% abv A refreshing lager elevated with the addition of green peppercorns, “Ma Jiao” from the Sichuan province in China, Jade Scorpion is dangerously addictive. Peppercorns add bright, citrusy and herbal notes with a gentle tingle that makes our Chinese take on a pilsner delightfully moreish.

- Hitachino Saison du Japon|, Japan – 4x12oz cans – $18 ———6.5% abv A Japanese Saison made with Koji Mold & Yuzu Fruit. Kiuchi created a very unique saison using the following items: raw wheat harvest around the Kiuchi brewery, Yuzu fruit, and saison yeast along with sake yeast (koji mold).

- Hitachino Dai Dai, Japan – 4x12oz cans – $18 ———6.8% abv A unique beer brewed with peel of Japanese Fukure Mikan fruit. “Kiuchi/Hitachino” philosophy with highly focused notes of orange/mandarin, quite dry in the finish.
- Hitachino Red Rice, Japan – 4x12oz cans – $18 ———- 7.0% A Japanese twist on a centuries-old European-style ale. Hitachino Nest’s ale is produced by the 183-year-old Kiuchi Brewery in Ibaraki, Japan, using heirloom strains of rice and sake yeasts. A cloudy dark pink brew with a fruity sake-like flavors with malt sweet notes. Hints of strawberries in the nose and palate. An intriguing mix of sake, malt , and bitter notes in the finish. An extremely fantastic beer that is a mix between sake and beer!

- Kiuchi Whiskey Highball, Japan – 12oz can – $5.5 OR 4x12oz – $22 ——— 10% abv Kiuchi Brewery has been distilling whisky since 2016 with the aim to break the boundaries of Japanese Craft Whisky. This year, Kiuchi is releasing “Hitachino Highball”. Using the pure water of Hitachino and the unique aromas and flavors of Kiuchi’s matured whisky, to present a bold yet crisp version of the popular Japanese alcoholic beverage. Kiuchi whisky is brewed and distilled 100% at Kiuchi Brewery – genuine Japanese Whisky. The Hitachino Highball is crafted with a careful blend of Spanish Sherry and Japanese Wine barreled selection of 3-year matured whisky. The pure water of Hitachino is used to then dilute the whisky down to this bold yet drinkable.
MEXICO
- Chichicpatli, Mexico – 4×11.2oz bottles – $14 ———- 5.4% This collaborative Slow Beer was created by the master brewers of La Bru and Baja Brewing in celebration of Mexico’s national flower, the Dahlia. Called “Chichicpatli”, meaning bitter medicine, in Nahuatl, the dahlia root is native to Mexico and was once an important food source in the Aztec capital. Here we create a magical blend of the unique sweet and earthy flavors of this Slow Food Ark of Taste ingredient with a refreshing balance of hops, hibiscus flower and pale malts. Its authentic flavors and festive pink color delight the senses and bring the spirit of Mexico to your table. Chichicpatli pairs well with fish, seafood, white meats and spiced dishes. It has received numerous awards including gold medal in the Abierto Mexicano de Cervezas. Medium light body. Floral aroma dominates, with a subtle hop bitterness in the palate and a clean, dry finish.

Prickly pear provides about a quarter of the fermentable sugars in this beer and it is grown in Morelos, a state with tropical climate contiguous to Mexico City.
